American Musical theater composer Jason Robert Brown once said, "What's great about collaborating is getting to work with wonderful people. That's what theatre is about: other people getting you to give your best, and getting everyone else's best out of them."

This is the magic of theater--of putting up a show. More than just acting, singing, and dancing, theater is about community. All gifts, talents and skill culminate in collaborating with other people to bring out the best in each other and making those who watch experience that magic.

Headway School for Giftedness annual Christmas show isn't just about putting up a performance, it's about letting its students experience what it means to share your gifts and talents. This year was not any different.

This school year the students came together to bring to stage the well-loved story of Alice in Wonderland. The show was a labor of love that began early 2017 where our theater consultant Ms. Justine Pena wrote the script and trained our teachers in the art of theater.
Through their MAPEH subjects students were encouraged to put into practice their creativity, fine motor skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills through the creation of the props and costumes. HSG students also got to share their singing, acting and dancing talent as each grade level prepared a performance for the show. The Annual Christmas Show was a manifestation of what children can do no matter their skills and abilities---that in the midst of community--of fellow students, of teachers, of administrators and parents---they may with their own abilities put up a show that bring magic and wonder to its audience.
Alice in Wonderland success can only be attributed to the community that help make it happen. Thank you to everyone who supported the show. Until next school year!
