A Starry Night: The Artist's Journey, December 20, 2012
HSG presented “A Starry Night: The Artist’s Journey” last December 20, 2012 at the UP Cine Adarna to give tribute to the different cultures - its artists and icons - who contributed to the art that we perceive today.

The show served as an educational entertainment to an audience of all ages – a visual and musical experience that tells the story of creativity in world history. Great artists, including Renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci, expressionist Vincent Van Gogh and other famous artists in Eastern and Western culture, are introduced through an interplay of delightful production numbers. It was capped with a message addressing parents and guardians to encourage the young student/artist in continuing the artistic journey via artistic, musical, literary and dance expressions.
The Nursery and Kinder classes danced to a Renaissance inspired number while the Preparatory Class appeared as Vincent Van Goghs in a disco-dance performance.

Grades 1A, 2, 5 and Music Opportunity students presented the Egyptian, Chinese, Hindu and Filipino cultures.
Grades 1B and 6 appeared as Greeks and Romans to tell the story of the great civilizations and empire.
Meanwhile, The grades 3 and 4 classes presented modern numbers which spoke of the pop art era and the Korean pop explosion.
HSG’s Dance Varsity Team appeared as Eighties icons and the dance opportunity classes danced to the tune of nineties hits!
HSG Mentoring student Kaira Balcos played the Marimba, to the delight of an eager audience. Special guest performers Bayang Barrios, Glenn Lemen and Joshua Ramirez (who sang a special duet with HSG Founder/Directress Luz Estudillo) also rendered beautiful performances in support of the HSG community.
Indeed, “A Starry Night: The Artist’s Journey” is now a documented chapter in the lives of each student at HSG. A big congratulations to each and every family for an extravagant evening well travelled! |
